A Fortune 500, non-bank financial services company faced accounting issues that demanded a new level of data protection. Although security programs were already in place, a compliance audit revealed that to more effectively guard sensitive information – and to ensure that all regulatory requirements were met – the company’s capabilities would have to be enhanced significantly.

SSI responded with a comprehensive project management solution that included:
- Detailed documentation, testing, and scheduling of financial modeling applications prior to their execution
- Managing an upgrade of the company’s existing database security system to improve monitoring, security, and compliance
- Facilitating the knowledge transfer that enabled transition of the management and execution of the system from SSI to the company

THE CHALLENGE
Monitor and Document Maintenance of Professional Educational Requirements
Pressured by increasing regulations and the desire to provide the highest quality of state-of-the-art care, a leading healthcare and teaching facility needed a system to ensure that healthcare providers continuously maintained specific educational requirements.
The challenges were three-fold. First, to provide a single and easily accessible portal location for healthcare professionals to log in, review available live and online programs, and register for the programs. Second, to accurately record the signups and ensure they were entered into the system. And third, to develop a report that captured all the information and made it available to regulators.
THE SSI GLOBAL GROUP SOLUTION
SSI successfully implemented a multi-faceted solution aimed at developing a gateway into the facility’s Learning Management System that helped the facility meet all three of those challenges. As technical project manager, SSI:
- Analyzed system requirements
- Conducted fit/gap analysis workshops to compare features of the system with needs of the facility
- Facilitated users’ ability to participate in online education
- Designed a Lightweight Director Access Protocol – LDAP – for more than 11,000 users that allowed integration of web applications

Track Publications across U.S. to Comply with No Child Left Behind Law
The No Child Left Behind law made numerous requirements of a broad range of stakeholders. For a prominent publishing company, those requirements included keeping track of every test booklet it produced for state departments of education – from printing press to classroom and all points in between.

SSI served as senior project director for a multimillion-dollar initiative that helped to solve the company’s problem by:
- Defining a vision and implementation strategy to secure approval from the company’s various technical governance groups
- Managing nine component projects through discovery, design, development, and deployment phases
- Delivering the nine components on time and on budget
- Integrating the components into the company’s business operations and facilitating their adoption into standard business procedures
- Generating significant cost savings for the company
